-         Algeria awards 8 hydrocarbons exploration contracts as part of the 5th tender notice issued in July 2004: BHP/Woodside consortium, CNPC and Sinopec, Amerada Hesse, Repsol YPF/Gas Natural consortium, PteroCeltic and Statoil are the winners of the contracts.
-         Algeria awarded 5 contracts for exploration blocks in December 2004 as part of the 4th bid-round: CNPC, PetroCanada, Repsol/RWE DEA/Edison consortium and Total/Cepsa consortium won the contracts.
-         Nine (09) exploration contracts awarded by Algeria as part of the 6th call for tenders launched in April 2005: BP, Shell, BHP and Gulf Keystone oil companies are the winners of the contracts.

-         Anadarko operates in two giant oil fields

-         Sonatrach, Cepsaz, Anadarko, ENI, Maersk, Burlington resources and Talisman on a field producing 230,000 barrels of oil per day

-         SNC Lavalin becomes shareholder in the 825 MW power plant of Skikda

-         BHP holds leading position on the oil field of Ohanet

-         BP and Statoil in association with Sonatrach on two giant gas field

-         Repsol YPF/Gas Natural consortium on the giant integrated gas project of Gassi Touil

-         Amerada Hess and Burlington Resources companies to increase their oil production

-         BHP and ENI on the oil field of ROD

-         SNC Lavalin and Mubadala invest 826 million dollars for the development of a 1,200 MW power plant in Cherchell-Tipaza
